Settings for Comcast Email
The following settings should be used to send and receive email in order to set up Comcast email (@comcast.net):
- Incoming Mail Server Name: imap.comcast.net
- Incoming Mail Server Port Number:

- Outgoing Mail Server Name: smtp.comcast.net

Please note that the Port Nu.mb.er 110 inbound mail server will no longer be supported. Please update your configuration to Port 995 if you want to proceed using POP. In Outlook Express, Comcast Email Settings
Step 1 Double click the program icon to open the Outlook Express or pick “Program Files” from the Start menu.

Windows Live Mail Settings for Comcast
Step 1 Windows Live Mail Settings–Open Windows Live Mail.
Step 2 Choose “Tools” and “Accounts,” then press “Add.”
Step 3 Enter your computer’s email and password and username from which email will be displaying or linked.
Step 4 Select “POP3” from the menu list below and enter “mail.comcast.net” into the text field “Incoming Mail.”
Step 5 Enter the port box with “995” and select the box “SSL.”
Step 6 Enter “smtp.comcast.net” into the text field of “Outgoing mail” and select the “SSL” check box. Enter “465” in the port text area, then press “Next.”

Transfer from POP to IMAP
- Choose File, then Add Accounts.

Transfer of POP emails to IMAP Profile
If the option was chosen to delete emails from the server initially during the setup of the POP Account, e-mails would be deleted from the mail server when they were downloaded to the e-mail client.
To avoid losing the mails while switching from POP to IMAP, you should select and drag and drop into the respective folder within your newly configured IMAP account emails contained in the various folder(s) (inbox, subfolders, trash or sent items). You can also migrate these messages and store them in an internal directory to be secure.
Removal of the POP profile
After your existing emails have been moved from the POP account to their newly set IMAP folders (and no emails are missing), you can remove from your mail client the existing POP configured profile and the respective folders. Continue to use Xfinity Connect via your fresh IMAP profile.
