Configure Outlook Express Settings for Comcast Email
You will want to create sure your settings are properly configured by using Outlook Express to access your Xfinity Connect email account. We’re going to demonstrate you how.
Open Outlook Express.
Click on the Tools menu and select Accounts…
To configure your Outlook Express client, go to step 3.
Select your account from the menu on the left to reconfigure Outlook Express client, Then click Properties and skip to step 12.
Click Add, then click Mail…
Enter your name in the name field of display and click Next.
Enter your complete email address in the field of email address and click Next.
For my incoming mail server, select POP3 from the menu.
Enter mail.comcast.net in the server sector of POP3, IMAP or HTTP. Enter smtp.comcast.net in the server field Outgoing Mail (SMTP).
Enter the username of your Xfinity in the field Account Name. (Type your Xfinity username in your email address as shown on the left side of the @ symbol. For instance, if the email is firstname.lastname@example.org, type it in johndoe.) Enter your password in the password field. Check the Remember Password box if each time you access your email, you don’t want to enter your password. Next click.
Under Account, highlight mail.comcast.net and click Properties.
Click Advanced tab.
Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL), under Outgoing Mail (SMTP).
Enter 465 in the SMTP sector. Enter 465.
Check the box next to this server for a safe link (SSL) under the Incoming Mail (POP3). The port is going to shift to 995.
Click on the Servers tab and inspect the authentication box next to My Server.
As an extra step, e-mail customers of third parties are often configured to delete server emails. This prevents other devices from receiving your Comcast email. You need to guarantee that email messages are not deleted to use your Comcast email account on many devices. Click the Tools menu and select Account in order to configure an Outlook Express client to prevent messages from being removed from the server.
Click the Tools menu and select Account.
Select your account from the left menu and press Properties.
Check the box next to Let the server contain a copy of the messages.
