How to backup or restore email using MSN Explorer software

Back up all of your email

When you back up your laptop, you have certain choices to store your backup.

• Keep your cloud files. It is the best choice and you can access it on all devices you use, including your PC, tablet or mobile, if you save your backup in OneDrive, Microsoft’s free cloud storage. Here you can learn more about OneDrive: Start with OneDrive
• Back up your documents on your laptop. Follow the following measures to save your messages to this desktop and you can always transfer them to another machine later, but you need to save them first.

1. Click Settings on the Help & Settings menu at the top of the screen.
2. Click Change the settings of your e-mail.
3. Click E-mail import or export, e-mail copy or contact import.
4. Click E-mail Copy.
5. Click Next in the MSN email dialog box.
6. Select Save MSN email on this device and click Next. Save your MSN email.
7. The dialog box will indicate the default place to save your email (C:\Documents and Settings\ [User name] \My Documents), then press Next and click Fulfill.
8. You will need to use an internal machine like a thumb drive if you want to store the backup on another computer.

Back up select emails

1. Go to your computer’s desktop. Right-click a blank region, pick New, and then press Folder.
2. Type Saved emails as the fresh folder name and press Enter.
3. Click on the Mail & More icon at the top of the page in the MSN Explorer(‘ Butterfly’).
4. Resize your MSN window to view your desktop’s Saved email folder. See Working with Windows Select the check box next to each message, then drag emails to the Saved e-mail folder onto your computer, to assist you resize your window.
5. Open the desktop folder to verify there are emails.

Restore all of your email

1. Click Settings on the Help & Settings icon at the top of the screen.
2. Change your email settings by clicking.
3. Click E-mail import or export, copy e-mail, or import contacts.
4. Click Copy and Next e-mail.
5. To open your saved MSN email, select the option and then click Next .
6. The default position of your email is shown in the dialog box (C:\Documents and Settings\ [User Name] \My Documents), Next click Done.

Restore select emails

These measures assist you to restore e-mails that you backed up in a folder on your desk.

1. Click on the Mail & More icon at the top of the screen in the MSN Explorer (‘ Butterfly’).
2. To restore your email to or generate a fresh file, open the MSN file with a right-click on the MSN files and select New Folder.
3. Resize the MSN window to see your desktop e-mail file Saved. To assist you to change the size of your window, double-click the Saved email folder to open it.
4. Drag the emails to the opened MSN mail folder in step 2 from the Saved Email folder.
